Designer Discovery in Time
This piece was created for my class on Information Design. We were asked to document the lives of 6/7 designers who influence our design practice today.
I picked seven designers in the field of graphic design: Charles Menard, Otto Neurath, Ladislav Sutnar, Gert Arntz, Harry Beck, Nigel Holmes and Nicholas Felton.
After experimenting with different layout, I decided that having one timeline stretching through a z-fold booklet would be the best option. Each designer featured had one graph that illustrated his life, with the peaks and troughs of the graph representing the ups-and-downs of their career.

Illustrations of each designer's silhouette was created to ensure consistency in representation.
The graph that stretches throughout the booklet with significant works highlighted where appropriate.
I decided on a z-fold as opposed to a bi-fold booklet as I felt that it was the best way to present just one Timeline that stretches over the period documented.
The timeline was represented over a period of 170 years.
